Privacy Policy
Last updated October 5, 2026
- You can study without an account, and then we receive nothing from you. Your phone's own iCloud or Google backup may include your study data.
- With an account, we store your email address and your study progress so it syncs between devices.
- No ads, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics tools, and we never sell your data.
- You can delete your account and all of its study data, on our servers and on your phone, from the app at any time.
Who we are
CloudCertified is a study app for cloud certification exams, made by Austin Dennis, an independent developer. In this policy, "we" means the CloudCertified developer. CloudCertified is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft or any certification provider.
Questions about this policy or your data: support@cloudcertified.io.
What we collect
If you use the app without an account
Your study plan, answers, progress, saved questions, notes and reminder settings are stored on your device. We don't receive any of it. If you back up your phone with iCloud or Google, those backups can include this data; they are handled by Apple or Google under your account, and we never receive them. Daily reminders are scheduled on your device by the operating system; no server sends them.
If you create an account
- Sign-in details: your email address. If you sign in with Apple, Google or Microsoft, we also receive an identifier from that provider. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your email address, in which case we receive a private relay address instead.
- Study data: the exams you plan for, your exam date, time zone and optional daily goal, the answers you choose and whether they were correct, when you answered, and your saved questions. When you sign in, study data from the free sample on that device is attached to your account.
- Reports you send: if you report a problem with a question, we receive the report, including anything you write in it.
- Subscription status: which plan you have, its store transaction identifiers and its renewal and expiry dates. Apple and Google handle payment. We never see your card or payment details.
Personal notes you add to questions stay on your device and are not sent to us.
If you email support
We receive your email address and your message.
Technical logs
Our servers record basic request logs, such as the time of a request, which feature was used and whether it succeeded, to keep the service running and secure. These logs don't contain your answers or your IP address, and we keep them for 14 days. Our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services, processes IP addresses as part of delivering the service.
On this website
This website uses no cookies and no analytics. Its fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
What the app does not access
CloudCertified doesn't access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone, and it doesn't use advertising identifiers. Notification permission is optional and only used for the daily reminder you can turn on.
How we use it
- To run your study plan, sync your progress, and show your results.
- To check your subscription with Apple or Google and unlock paid content.
- To review and fix reported problems with questions, and to answer support requests.
- To keep the service secure and working, for example to prevent abuse.
We don't use your data for advertising or profiling, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers, only for the purposes above:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services (United States) | Hosting the app's servers, sign-in, data storage, and receiving support email |
| Apple | App distribution, subscription payments, and Sign in with Apple if you choose it |
| App distribution on Android, subscription payments, Sign in with Google if you choose it, our support inbox, and this website's fonts | |
| Microsoft | Sign in with Microsoft, if you choose it |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Where your data is stored
Account and study data is stored in the United States, on Amazon Web Services. If you live elsewhere, your data is transferred to the United States to provide the service.
How long we keep it
- Account and study data: until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your study data, your subscription link and your sign-in account, and erases the app's data on the phone you delete from. Copies in our backups are removed within 35 days.
- Support email: the copy stored by our mail system is deleted after 30 days. The copy in our support inbox is kept only as long as it's needed to help you.
- Request logs: 14 days.
Your choices and rights
- Use the app without an account. Your data then stays on your device and in your own device backups, if you use them.
- Delete some or all of your study data without deleting your account: in the app, Settings → Account → Reset study data erases one exam's data or all of it, and your account and subscription stay. You can also ask by email. See how to delete your study data.
- Delete your account at any time in the app's settings. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription; cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
- Get a copy of your data, or correct it, by emailing support@cloudcertified.io. We'll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you may have additional rights, such as to object to or restrict how your data is used, or to complain to a data protection authority. We process account data to provide the service you signed up for, and logs based on our legitimate interest in keeping it secure. To use any of these rights, email us.
Children
CloudCertified is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. On your device, sign-in tokens are kept in the system's secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit the data we collect and who can access it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
